Additional Qualifications for Inclusion on the Oral Health Register

Oral health practitioners may apply to the Council to have additional qualifications gained included on the Oral Health Register.

The Council's policy on the registration of additional qualifications is as follows:
  • Only qualifications which have relevance to the practice of an oral health profession will be approved for inclusion in the Register. This includes graduate and postgraduate degrees and diplomas in dentistry, dental therapy, hygiene or technology and related health sciences and biological sciences and management

  • Any qualifications approved for inclusion in the Register must have been awarded following successful completion of a recognised course of study or training including examination; and all applications for additional qualifications will be considered on their individual merits.
Those wishing to register additional qualification(s) should apply in writing and send to the Dental Council:
  • A certified copy of the original qualification or

  • A certificate or letter, showing that you are the holder of the qualification, from the registrar of the educational institution at which the qualification was obtained.
Notification of examination results is not sufficient. Evidence is required that the qualification has been conferred.
