Procedure
The Dental Council may be notified of concerns about a practitioner's competence from any source including other health
practitioners, the Health and Disability Commissioner, employers, or patients. The Council will inform the practitioner about the
concern and invite them to comment. The Council then considers the concern, the practitioner's comments and any other information
it may have about the practitioner's performance. These matters are considered against strict guidelines and a decision is made
about whether or not a competence review is required.
