New process for assessment of overseas qualifications, training and experience from 1 April 2021

For general scope applications, from 1 April 2021 a new process for assessment of your overseas qualifications, training and experience will come into effect.

The new process will include:

  • submission of case studies across your scope of practice as part of your online application
  • two assessors will review your application – one academic and one clinician practising in the same scope of practice in which you are applying for registration
  • an online interview with the two assessors after their review of the information submitted on your qualification and case studies provided.

For specialist applications, from 1 April 2021 an online interview with the academic and clinical assessors will be introduced into the assessment process of your overseas qualifications, training and experience (case studies are already provided).

Further details will be made available on 1 April 2021 for those applicants who apply under the new process.

Those applicants who have submitted their online applications and paid their application fee on or before 31 March 2021 will be considered under the current process.
