Mask requirements in health service premises
We have received several queries regarding the recent government announcement, especially in relation to masks.
Based on the information received earlier today from Manatū Hauora - Ministry of Health:
- The COVID-19 Public Health Response (Masks) Order (2022) does not require health workers (practitioners and staff) and patients/residents within a health service to wear a mask. However, the PPE requirements (including masks) defined in the Dental Council’s Infection prevention and control practice standard must be adhered to by oral health practitioners.
